Upon affa's return for the children she learned that two of the girls

her sister in the future.

Hazel was the 5th child born to Affa Burke and James Connell to be

sent to the orphanage.

She was the baby of the girls. she remainned in the orphanage with her

other sister Gracie , until grandma Affa returned

for them.

The two girls were the only two that got to be reunited with Grandma

Affa. Grandma had re married a gentlman by the name of

albert Mosley. who welcomed the girls into his life making a home for

them . It was only three months later that little baby hazel died in

Grandma Affa's arms

of Disentary.

This poor family had meet with many life challenges through out it's

course in life. May their rewards will be more then there sorrows

where they dewell in the house of the lord.

Alice was also sent to a foster couple whom also couldnt have

children of their own. Family states that Grandma Affa was

able to find alice through the orphanage, Grandma Affa decided that she

would never be able to give Alice the kind of life

that the messerly's had so she decided to let the messerly family keep

Alice and raise her as their own.

Family states that Grandma Affa would never sign over her rights

entitling the messerly family to

Adoption Alice . So the Messerly family wasent ever allowed to adopt

her.

Grandma Affa keep intouch with Alice as much as the Messerly Family

would allow, a letter here and there.

It was only until the messerly Family moved leaving no forwarding

adress that Grandma Affa lost touch with Alice. It was at the age of 18

that

Ruth Bangs & Warren Messerly where able to adopt Alice

Family searched for alice for many years but to no avail. It was until

2002 that a GGGrandaughter of Affa's through the internet was finally

able to

gain enough information to find alice and her family, but unfortunatly

Alice had passed away 9 years earlier, Alice's daughter assured her

that Alice had a happy life and often spoke of the family she had lost

so long ago.
